Prattica di musica – artistic dir. Andrea Gavagnin – was founded in Venice in 2020 by young musicians decided to explore, with their artistic research, the landscape of Renaissance and early Baroque vocal music.

The ensemble first met in 2020, when it was for the masterclass “Cantar distanti” at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, with Marco Mencoboni and Pedro Memelsdorff. In 2021, it featured in two documentaries broadcasted respectively by Rai5 and Sky arte. In 2022, we have received a certificate of merit for the promotion of early music in Belgium by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Bruxelles. In 2023, our ensemble was chosen for the young ensemble showcase “Première” at FestiVita – Brussels Early Music Festival.

One of our goals is to create an opportunity for musicians with different backgrounds to collaborate, the young generations together with the more experienced professionals. Moreover, we strive to present artistically high quality and original programs, both in the research we do on the repertoire and in the way we perform it.
